On the first Monday of the Shravani Mela, thousands of devotees gathered at Shivtirth Tarakeshwar to offer their prayers to Baba Taraknath. This annual event attracts devotees from Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha, many of whom journeyed approximately 40 kilometers on foot from Sevdafuli Ganga Ghat to pour holy water on Baba’s head. The vibrant scene was marked by a mix of people fulfilling vows, seeking blessings, and continuing their annual tradition of devotion.
The atmosphere at Tarakeshwar was charged with faith and devotion as people came with diverse intentions—some to express gratitude for fulfilled vows, others to make new promises or seek blessings. This significant turnout highlights the enduring spiritual and cultural significance of the Shravani Mela in the region, drawing devotees across states to participate in this sacred pilgrimage.
